The values of patriarchal form of the family came from ancient Rome. In ancient Rome, the father was considered as the sole head of the family. In ancient Rome, there was a culture to follow whatever father said. The value to follow one’s father came from Rome. They had this value to listen to each member of the family before taking an important decision.

The Romans had their own evolutionary story about family morals and their other values. It was a belief in ancient Rome that the moral duty of the women to take care of the household and in fact, the women followed it with utmost sincerity. The women considered as their moral duty to nurse their infants and spend time with their children.

Instead, she got the right to hold property. Father no longer had the authority to decide the life partner of the children. However, this change in the society and the values of the people was not readily and happily accepted by the people of ancient Rome.
